Scholars and Financial Support
Studio Luce is committed to supporting Guatemalan artists. In 2026, we are delighted to offer at least four fully funded scholarships specifically for Guatemalan citizens. If you would like to be considered for one of these scholarships, please indicate this clearly in your application.
About Studio Luce
Studio Luce is a self-directed residency that offers time, space, and autonomy. We trust residents to shape their days according to their own needs and creative rhythms. Rather than offering structured programming, we provide a quiet, supportive environment where you are free to use your time as you choose.
The residency hosts three artists at a time, each provided with a private en-suite bedroom for comfort and privacy. You'll be staying at Villa Rosa, home to Studio Luce, a creative haven featuring a swimming pool, a spacious communal kitchen, and a dedicated writing studio tailored specifically for your practice.

Nestled in El Paredón on Guatemala’s Pacific coast, the residency is set within the Sipicate-Naranjo National Park, offering a unique environment of natural beauty and seclusion. You're just a 10-minute walk from the country’s renowned black sand beaches, home to Guatemala’s best surf, while a protected mangrove forest stretches out in the opposite direction.
